A little about me

Meet the Teacher Behind Get Psyched

Teaching Psychology Since 2013

I’m Tim Steadman. Teaching psychology, telling stories through video and finding new ways to learn are the threads that brought me here.

Here’s how it started

Hey, I’m Tim!

I’ve taught psychology since 2013, and I also operate a videography business. Teaching and visual storytelling are both big parts of my work.

Get Psyched brings those interests together with something else I care about: interactive learning. I enjoy finding ways to help an idea move from something you hear about to something you can explore.

From the classroom, one step at a time

How It Started

  1. 2013

    Teaching psychology

I began teaching psychology in 2013. Teaching is where this story starts.

  2. During COVID

    Videos for my students

I began creating AP Psychology videos to help my students learn remotely.

  3. The YouTube project

    Get Psyched with Tim Steadman

Those videos became my educational YouTube project, bringing my teaching and visual storytelling together.

  4. Later, a new chapter

    Get Psyched Learning

My interest in teaching, visual storytelling and interactive learning eventually inspired this website.

From Videos to Interactive Learning

The videos came first. They started as a way to support my students during remote learning and became Get Psyched with Tim Steadman on YouTube.

This website came later. Get Psyched Learning grew out of my interest in giving learners more ways to work with psychology: watching an explanation, exploring an idea and putting it into practice.

What brings it together

Why I Built Get Psyched

I built Get Psyched to bring together the things I enjoy most: teaching psychology, telling stories visually and creating interactive ways to learn.

I want it to be a place where you can explore an idea, try it for yourself and come back to it when you need another look. That’s the direction I’m building toward, and I’m glad you’re here.
